BOCHU Ceramic Rings
The ceramic ring sits directly behind the nozzle and does a job that is easy to overlook until it fails: it electrically isolates the nozzle from the head body and carries the capacitive height-sensing signal that keeps the head at a constant standoff from the sheet. A cracked, chipped or carbon-tracked ceramic shows up as an "unstable signal" fault or erratic height following long before anyone thinks to check it - so it is worth keeping a spare on the shelf rather than discovering the problem mid-shift.

BOCHU Protective Lens
Think of the protective lens as a sacrificial disc. Every spark and bit of molten spatter that comes back up through the nozzle hits this window first, not your focus lens. On a machine cutting mild steel for most of the day, that window can go hazy or pitted within a shift or two - and once it starts absorbing power instead of transmitting it, cut quality drops before anyone notices why.

BOCHU Focus & Collimating Lens
The collimating lens straightens the beam coming out of the fiber, and the focus lens brings that beam to a point at the cutting surface - together they are the core optics inside a BOCI BLT head. Unlike the ceramic ring or protective lens, these are sold specific to the head model, not by a generic size chart, so it matters to know exactly which BLT head you are running before ordering.

BOCHU Consumable Maintenance Guide
- Protective lens: check every shift on heavy mild-steel work. Replace at the first haze, pitting or spatter that will not wipe off.
- Ceramic ring: replace if cracked, chipped, or if you see height-signal instability. Re-seat firmly after fitting - a loose ceramic can mimic a sensor fault.
- Focus & collimating lens: inspect whenever you change the protective window, since they sit right above it. Replace at any sign of contamination, thermal lensing (focus drift) or a drop in cut speed with no other cause.
- Handling: change consumables in a clean area, never touch the optic face directly, and use a lint-free wipe with the correct solvent. Most "bad lens" complaints trace back to careless handling during a swap, not the part itself.
