The Raytools BM114 series is a 6 kW class auto-focusing fiber laser cutting head with an external motor and built-in drive unit, giving roughly 25 mm of programmable focus travel and a large clear-aperture lens group for high-power work. The BM114 and BM114S take D32 body / M14 thread / H15 nozzles and an M14 ceramic nozzle holder, the same fitment as the BM109, BM110, BM111 and BT240S.   1. BM114 and BM114S use the M14 ceramic nozzle holder and therefore D32 M14 H15 nozzles - the mainstream Raytools fitment shared with the BM109, BM110, BM111, BT240 and BT240S. If your existing nozzle drawer serves those heads, it serves these too.
  2. BM114E uses the M11 ceramic nozzle holder, the same family as the BM115, BM116 and BS12K, and therefore D28 M11 nozzles. A D32 nozzle will not seat in it, and forcing one risks the ceramic. One letter on the label changes the entire nozzle stock list.
  3. Optics do not follow the nozzle rule. The BM114 series runs a larger clear-aperture lens group than the 3 kW BM110 and BM111, because 6 kW demands it. Never order optics for a BM114 by cross-referencing a BM111 part number - confirm diameter and focal length off your own lens holder.

High-Power Optic Care - What Changes at 6 kW

  • Inspect on a schedule, not on symptoms.
    At 3 kW you can afford to wait for the cut to tell you something is wrong. At 6 kW the damage arrives with the symptom. Fix a window inspection interval per shift and hold to it, even when the parts look fine - especially when they look fine.
  • Coating condition matters more than surface dirt.
    A window with light dust can often be cleaned. A window with a burn ring, a milky patch or any visible coating lift is finished, regardless of how clean the rest of it looks. At high power, damaged coating absorbs energy and takes the next optic with it.
  • Coolant temperature is an optics parameter here.
